“…Yoga Flow is the most beautiful indoor place that I have ever had the pleasure of practicing yoga in–expansive, good natural light, lovely altar at the front, round shape. The space is inspirational. My instructor, Jill, was playful, confident, and knowledgeable. She took the time to provide careful and VERY helpful adjustments in nearly every pose, which helped me get the most out of my practice. I really felt cared for. I have been to several studios in Tucson, and Yoga Flow is up there with the best. It’s the first studio where I experienced my favorite combination of physical challenge and spiritual acceptance. Try it out! You won’t regret it…”

Erica Nielsen’s journey with yoga started in 1998 when she attended a class for the first time at the U of AZ Health Center consisting of restorative poses, breath work (pranayama), meditation and relaxation and later discovered Hatha and Ashtanga yoga in Los Angeles and Florida. Formally educated in neuropsychology and gerontology, she was intrigued by the health benefits and internal awareness she experienced from the combination of asana practice and breath work. In 2005 Erica  moved to South Africa, then deepening her practice by becoming an internationally certified (IYA) yoga teacher under Jim Harrington of Karma Shala. She furthered her personal study of yoga under the instruction of senior Iyengar, Hatha and Kundalini teachers. Erica was also trained and certified by the Meret Storck-Matchett (http://www.zenzero.co.za/meret.html) as a Body Intelligence Pilates (BI) instructor. Her diverse study of bodywork allowed her a deeper appreciation for each yoga tradition she came across and she often often implements BI and Iyengar when teaching students recovering from injuries and when demonstrating how to move safely to avoid further trauma and damage to the body.  Erica enjoys teaching Hatha, Pranayama, Power Hatha or vigorous Vinyasa Flow, as well as hosting workshops addressing injury-prone areas of the body and how to safely build into advanced poses.. She focuses on breath and alignment, building on compassionate respect for the body and spirit.
